Jim,
The shop vac we use at work seems to move the dust around. In other words,
the vacuum cleaner exhaust will contain much dust. I made the mistake of
starting it up while it was sitting directly below a fire alarm sensor. It
set it off.
OTOH, I think it is a great idea, especially if it cuts down on plastic
skirting.
We used to use pool scrubbers and water which eliminated the dust but
polluted
the drain water that a lot of boatyards can't deal with.
