    It is a factor of the length to width ratio.
    My 44ft. tri is about 3' max BWL and the single immersed ama is only about
    14" BWL depending on how hard it is being driven.
    When the beam is this narrow, it can also violate the hull speed vs. water
    line formula. The multi hull achieves it's speed from being light, narrow,
    low displacement and stable.
