CTs pre 81 had deck/cabintop problems and are solid since then in that
respect - my deck and cabintop is actually mostly frp (glass). I would guess
that Hudsons have deck related problems basing this on my 2 friends that had
to rebuild their decks. I've had to rebung most of the deck - but then all
    boats require maintenance.

I've never had any problems with bulkheads. Very solid. I can't imagine why
    Bob's boat did?

Mast steps definitely need to be looked at. I recently rebuilt mine.
Something lasting 20 years is acceptable. The new one is epoxy saturated
into the wood and then fully glassed and I figure will never rot.

My boat is 20 years old and I did have to repair the bow sprit. No big deal.

As you say bullet proof hull. Never any blisters on my boat. Even brand new
rudders get water in them but fixed that years ago by injecting foam.

Taiwanese boats in general are known for poor stainless quality though my
boat is all 316 including chainplates.

If you buy a boat 20 years old you may be looking at a limited life span of
the tankage so budget that in.

I've owed my boat for over 10 years and are very, very happy with her
quality!! And the wood work is simply divine. You cannot get wood like that
today - those forrests are gone.
