Do yourself a favor and buy current up to date charts. The waters/sand on
the gulf coast frequently shift with storms and tides and passes relocate.
I've seen 10 year old charts horribly out of whack and 30 year old charts
are useless. You can also consult a periodic publication called Gulf Coast
Marineer - a boating rag available from TX to FL that publishes
discrepancies in the navigational aids. Also, someone may have already
mentioned a book called Gulf Coast Cruising Guide (I think that's the name-
I don't have it here with me right now). It's by Tom Lenfesty and covers the
ICW and inland bays from the Keys to the panhandle and has provided me lot's
of great gunkhole anchorages along the coast. Steve
