Norm: in answer to your question below.

The deeper cavities were laid-up with "fab-mat" which is a combination of
1.5 oz mat and 24.5 oz rovings. Lay-ups with this material have alternate
layers of rovings and mat which adhere well together and are very strong.

     I used three layers of fab-mat (i.e., 3 rovings + 3 mat alternating) to
glass-in my engine beds (17 years ago) for my Perkins 4-108. That structure
has proven to be bullet-proof over the time.

Minor cavities cannot be filled with fab-mat due to its thickness... for
these we use layers of 3/4oz or 1.5 oz mat alone. Strength is not an issue
    for shallow divots.

COOCHI, ready to paint primer when the weather permits.... pant pant pant!
