I need to transit from Hudson river, through Upper Bay and out to the
Atlantic southbound, probably stopping at Sandy Hook. This will be in about
10 days, would I expect any problem?

    > We can confirm that LI Sound is open. You will likly be escorted through
the East River past Manhattan as far as the Verrazano Bridge. You may be
asked to hold position until they have sufficient vessels to escort through
    for efficiency.
    > They are not at last report, boarding every vessel. Standing order is
random inspections at the discretion of the patrol commander.
    > Fort Totten is right accross from the Throggs Neck bridge. Your escort
will likely originate there. South Shore has lots of patrols and fly overs
but boat traffic is pretty normal.

    > An avid but stupid birder heard that a very rare migrating bird was seen
on the Jones Beach Coast Guard Station reserve. It is understandably closed
to the public right now. This moron tried to sneak in in camo with
binnoculars. He was grabbed right away but is very lucky he wasn't shot.
    > Another one was a stupid goose hunter steaming down Seaford Creek in full
camo and a black beret. The Coast Guard reamed him for being just plain
insensative just days after the explosion.

let me know and we will do it.
