Sorry Rick, didn't mean to get you excited about a new mobile email system!
Unfortunately, I don't have any new info on that. In reality, I downloaded
my list mail from a payphone in Boston using AOL's "flashsession," read
through it and wrote my responses in flight on my laptop, then connected
through a payphone in Detroit to send them and download any new mail.
Speaking of flying, it was a bit scary -- especially out of Boston. We did
it anyway since the alternative was to rent a car to get to the Canadian
border, rent another in ME and drive to south FL over three days. Rental
cars were hard to get and were charging exorbitant drop fees -- plus I didn't
really want to spend three days on the road. We were stuck in CA for 4 days
longer than we had planned, and the only way we got home when we did was by
flying to Boston on Monday, staying there at our expense, and continuing home
on Tuesday. Otherwise we would have had to wait until Friday to get through
all in one day! I'm glad to be home!
PS We flew through Newark on the way up a few days before.... I pointed
out the WTC among other sites to my girlfriend through the airplane window --
who would have thought that it would be gone by the time we came back!
