    Mike,
Depending on where you live some of this will not apply to
    your situation.
I use a San Mateo County "ADA" service called
'Ready-Wheels' that provides rides for disabled people. It
costs ME $1.00 each way, almost anywhere in the county.
I HAD (and will soon have again) a mountain bike with an
electric assisting motor. Under California law, if the
'electrically assisted vehicle' has a top speed under 20 mph
no license or registration is required. That is fine with me
as I don't see well enough to go faster than about 12 mph
and even that speed scares me. Other than that there is the
occasional taxi and friends who are gracious enough to give
me rides (ALL THE TIME!). That is it for on land
transportation. Oh, yeah, I own a trailer I can tow behind
my bicycle to carry stuff but it is useless here in South
San Francisco due to the hills.

Tell me more about your transportation on land. I have
epilepsy (well, I did) and DMV took away my license. So
I'm looking for other ways to get around.

    Mike
