    Of course the real cruising difference between HT and standard chain has
    been weight vs strength and cost, but also regalvanizing. Very few shops,
    particularly foreign, will regalvanize HT because it is heat tempered.
    Improperly hot dipped galvanizing of HT chain will make it brittle.

    For that reason, most cruisers I know consider HT chain a one shot deal.
    Once it's worn, it's gone.
