    Ken,
     I have never seen these lights either, almost exactly the
    reason to use them - it WILL get attention! Also my
    sidelights are 'grandfathered' on the hull style and at that
    low mounting point not very visible. Some have suggested I
    simply disable them and replace with pulpit mounted
    sidelights. My thinking is this masthead light system will
    give me so much more visibility on the open sea that the
    weight aloft will not bother me. After all I already must
    install an anchor light there, the weight of these fixtures
    is small, and I will use aluminum tubing for the '1 meter'
    spacing. As for mast height I have a short mast, only 40
    feet above deck level, not much for a 35 foot boat.
