    No.

    What happens is that as the boat tacks back and forth at anchor, the strain
    shifts from one anchor to the other. If the strain is enough to make one of
    the anchors drag then the other will drag too when the boat is on the other
    tack so they will "walk" across the harbor bottom.

    One heavy anchor will have much more holding power so it will stay fixed in a
    higher blow.

    That's the theory anyway. I have never tested it since I always use only one
    anchor, a 66 LB Bruce on 1/2" chain. I imagine that two anchors in tandem,
    that is, one anchor attached to another anchor then to the rode, would have
    the same effect as a heavier anchor.
