Dick - US is not alone - Hong Kong newspapers and tV broadcasts, in English
and Chinese, and the PRC papers and news are giving extensive coverage - 20
pages in each of the English language papers today and the same in all the
Chinese press I have seen. Additional security provided to the US Embassy
and other US connected locations (American Club etc) by the local police etc
etc - special phone in numbers at Immigration Dept for HK people trying to
contact relatives, special Church services at all denomination churches etc
etc. Shock and sympathy plus offers of support and help from all countries
in this part of the world. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and, I
think, a real chance of concerted world wide effort to control terrorism

Subject: lv-ab: Question for non-US members on WTC terrorist attack
since the attack was against the US (at least it was yesterday). What kind
of TV and newspaper coverage is the event getting in other countries? I
guess what I'm trying to find out, given the horrendous magnitude of what
is: Are we on our own or are other countries at the point where there might
be a chance for some kind of concerted and meaningful worldwide effort to
put a stop to the killing?
