    Cold water and oxalic acid (drugstore) will do a god job without
    damaging the sails - at least on my boat (10 year old sails).
    Make sail wet with cold water - rub oxalic acid powder on to sail -
    let sit for a few minutes - rinse well with cold water - do not lick
    fingers, oxalic acid is deadly poison!
