But it will cost alot less, regardless of the fact that the
government in Canada is the "insurer" (health care services in
Canada are private). The health care is often superior to that
in the US (unless you are very rich).

In England, the National Health Service has seen it's bad times,
but it is recovering nicely. That system IS government run, but
international surveys show that the Brits have the least
complaints about their health care system. The Canadians, btw,
like their system, but think their Federal government should
contribute more -- that is being worked on now.

I don't remember the details of the top of my head, but they do
have universal health care there, and it is of very good quality.

I don't mean to turn this into a debate on health care/insurance,
just to comment on the fact that US health care is expensive, not
always the best, and rationed on the ability to pay.

There are some pretty good health care policies out there for
cruisers. The main thing I remember is that you have to be OUT
of the US for 6 out 12 months to qualify for some, others only
    cover you outside the US.

So while there may not be "free" health care out there, there
certainly is better and more equitable health care in other
countries, for LESS in taxes than we pay, for no universal
    coverage.
