That's for sure.
I remember a sailboat in Annapolis when I was a kid -- a retired man and
his wife owned it. One weekend they went down to spend some time on
it. He was sitting on the forward hatch cover, and she went below and
turned on the water in the sink. The electric water pump came on and
ignited the gas in the bilge. Blew him and the hatch cover about 20
feet out in the water, and blew a hole through each side of their boat
and the sides of the two boats next to them, which all burned and sank.
And we had a neighbor who never ran the blower before he loaded his
wife, 4 kids, and friends aboard and started up the engine. Nothing
ever happened to them as far as I know.
