    The Racors I have require special connectors. They are straight threaded and
    seal with an o-ring. Get them in various configurations from the same place
    you got your Racors.

    Perhaps they have changed, but the idea to not use a tapered pipe fitting to
    avoid splitting the pot metal casting of the Racor.

    After reading some of the other replies to your question, I realized you
    might be talking about the spin-on type Racor filters, which I have no
    experience with.

    I am talking about the input and output connections to the plastic bowl, top
    opening to replace filter element type Racor.
