lv-ab: Inflatable Dinghies

With two teenagers who continue to daily eat an amount of food equivilent
to that sufficient to sustain the 3rd Marine Division for a month, I have
finally outgrown my 8' American Sail dinghy; the freeboard is about 1" when
all four of us are aboard. So after 25 years of "keeping it simple" the
time is ripe to change tacks, bite the bullet, and spring for an inflatable
and outboard motor. The obvious choices are those carried by the major
discount houses and include Zodiac, Achilles, Avon, Seaworthy, Boat/US, West
Marine, etc. Are there choices to be avoided? Pros and cons of inflatable
floors vs. floorboards? The dinghy will likely be left at a (secure) dinghy
dock during non-sailing times and usually towed when underway.

Any advice on motors? I am leaning toward a 4 stroke in the 5-10 HP range
(depending on the final size of the dinghy).

If you would like to reply off-list, I will report a summary. Thanks.
