    Norn and Patrick are both correct in their observations concerning the
    relationship of hull shape to fuel economy. The more water you have to "push
    out of the way", the more "work" you have to do and the more energy, ie.
    fuel you comsume. Anyone interested in cruising on a boat as a way of life,
    should read about boat design first rather than just picking a boat that
    "looks nice". The laws of Physics can't violated.
