Would anyone on the list like to share the knowledge or possibly plans to
make a solar powered battery charger for NiCd batteries. I am interested in
making a small portable stand alone charger for AAA, AA, C, D batteries.
I have a 1.8 amp solar panel that has a maximum output of 20 volts. This
panel is sold as a battery maintenance charger for 12v car batteries. Some
of you may be familiar with them.
Not being a real "techie", I think some of the issues would be:
Limiting the output voltage of the panel to the charging station.
Stopping the charging current once the batteries are charged.
A feedback loop of some sort to let a trickle charging current through
to maintain full charge battery state.
I would like to be able charge AAA, AA, C, D batteries and then store the
batteries in one rack system.
Does anyone feel up to the challenge?
Regards,
Keith Wingate
