Practical Sailor ran some tests on Paint Strippers in October of 1999.
I quote from their recommendations. "Of the five products tested, Peel
Away Marine Safety Strip remains our preferred bottom paint stripper
because it is the thickest and therefore easiest to apply. It remains
active longest." Also be careful not to damage the gelcoat by leaving
the product on any longer than necessary "Our best recommendation is to
not leave any stripper on bare gelcoat any longer than necessary."

Give them a call and you can get the entire back issue (Volume 25 Number
    20) for about $8.00. They also offer a fax service.
