I have just started attacking the 2 layers of bottom paint and layer of bad
gelcoat on my boat. The bottom paint has a rubbery consistency and doesn't
sand well.
I tried to sand it off with 36 grit and the paper just fouls.
Is there a good chemical stripper for bottom paint? or a solvent?
Is there any better method of removing gel coat?
I am thinking that a big disk sander with 24 grit may be the ticket for fast
removal.
Any suggestions?
