Bob, I had the tridata unit on our last boat. I was told by the dealer that the depth sending unit is very sensitive to having bottom paint over top. After bottom paint (VC17), prior to launch, they went over the sending unit with thinner. We were very carful with future bottom painting and never had a problem.

For those who are familiar with the Autohelm ST50 Tridata unit, I have a question. My unit is three years old. At times, it appears to take as much as a minute to register depth. I figured that's normal.
Last weekend I had the boat hauled so I could apply bottom paint. When I relaunched yesterday, it took perhaps two minutes before it registered. Then I noticed as I got it into the slip, the depth was still registering the water depth that I encountered before entering the slip. It had not updated the data. I later turned it back on and the depth just flashes and reports "0" depth. The trouble shooting guide says little about this - only that there is a transducer cable/connector problem.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
