I'm on AOL, still using 4.0 version, but I piggyback it onto my local ISP.
The local costs about $15 per month & AOL costs an additional $8 or $9 per
month. The advantage for me is that I can set up different addresses on AOL
for the lists I'm on, the only mail I get at this address is from liveaboard.
I use my local provider for personal mail.
For www access I use Netscape (older version) thru my local ISP. Have to
admit AOL's browser sucks. Funny thing tho, I hear people complain about
being 'bumped' by Aol. Never happens to me. I can forget to log off, go away
for several days, return home and I'm still connected.
Also, since my local service is local only, I can still access the web by
using AOL when traveling. And I can get any personal mail on my local server
thru the web.
