I have had the Canon BJC-70 (predecessor to the BJC80 and BJC85) for 4
years. It has been great and I love it - approx 2500 sheets printed so far
(mostly text) and haven't had to replace the cartridge(s) yet (FYI, in this
printer the print head(s) is in the cartridge - you can replace the ink
tanks many times before you have to replace the cartidge). I don't use it
off of 12v; run it off my mains, and when unplugged from shorepower, off my
Heart Freedom 10. HOWEVER, I bought it for it's small size. You pay *a lot*
for that. If I had the space, I would most certainly get one of the
traditional desktop-type units, Canon or Epson likely. Power usage on
straight 12v vs an inverter should not really be a consideration - how much
printing do you plan to do??

    Regards....Randy
