Earnhardt had a Hatteras on order
According to the "Soundings Trade Only" website, Auto racing legend Dale
Earnhardt, killed during the final lap of the Daytona 500 on Feb. 18,
enjoyed boating as well as stock cars.
Brian Phillips, senior vice president of sales and marketing for New Bern,
N.C.-based Hatteras Yachts, confirmed that the famed NASCAR driver had
commissioned a motoryacht that is "almost complete." The 110-foot yacht
would have borne the name "Sunday Money" - the same name Earnhardt had given
the 74-foot Hatteras he recently sold.
Phillips said the Earnhardts have been customers for some time now and have
"owned a handful of Hatterases through the years."
