Re: lv-ab: What is with this mailing list? (should offensive people be bumped off the list?)

I didn't happen to see the remarks Deborah referred to but I agree with her
that people who cannot act like civil adults should be warned once, or
maybe twice, and them taken off the list. I know there is concern about
censorship, but what she's talking about isn't censorship it's just plain
common courtesy. A normally intelligent adult, especially when using a
written media like e-mail, should be able to disagree, even strongly
disagree, without resorting to being offensive.

What do the other members of the list think? I'm sure the list owner would
be interested in seeing if the idea of bumping offensive or abusive people
off the list has support and if so how much.

According to Edmond Burke, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of
evil is for good men [or women] to do nothing." So good people - do
    something - sound off.

In the meanwhile, look up your email software manual to see how to
construct a filter that automatically relegates all emails from the
offending party to the trash can. Not as satisfying as getting them off
    the list but effective.

Since I've found my email filter manual - let the flame war begin :-)
