Now that we are cruising, if I can't get someone to let me use a landline, I have to use a pay phone or a bag phone for pocketmail. The bag phone is analog and the most I can get is 100 free minutes a month for about $40 and the rest is 90 cents a minute for roaming. My last bill was $270.00. My beef is that I don't always get charged in the month I use the time so I'll be under one month, and not all the charges come in, and they come in the next month and that month I'm way over.
My ATT digital has no roaming or long distance, and I get 300-minutes for @60$. Since I use it a lot to call my kids and marinas etc, I've uped it to 900 minutes for $99.95/month. That's all *non*-email use.
