Had to jump in here, we have an Espar (hot air) and a Webasto (hot water)
and I like them both. When the Espar smokes like crazy, its usually the
glow plug and time to change it. They are designed to fail every year about
Christmas time.
I've also learned that burning stove oil, which I understand is cleaner, is
much easier on the jets - or something like that. Anyway, I started loading
stove oil into one of my tanks in the fall an so far, so good. The glow
plug has lasted longer than usual.
I should say that I think the heat from hot water heat seems to last longer
than forced air heat which seems to dissapate pretty quickly.
